Rahim said that this effort is the first ever done at UniMAP and other public universities in Malaysia. It was launched as part of INEEs strategy to produce high impact research other than reducing the usage of paper which in turn will reduce printing cost. Even though INEE is a small unit, the collaboration culture among INEE reseachers with other researcher from UniMAP and other institutions can be fostered through the launching of this scoreboard and this will improve the number of publication, she said in her speech during the launch. She added that between 2013 and 2017, INEE had produced 50 Q1 and Q2 ranked article from its total publication. The Publication Scoreboard officicating ceremony was completed by UniMAP Deputy Vice Chancellor for research and innovation, Prof Dr Uda Hashim. Dr. Uda hope that the scoreboard will not only serve as an example for UniMAP but also to other UA in Malaysia. The momentum of publication output in Scopus should be improved to fulfil the Malaysian Research Assessment (MyRA), The Ministry of Higher Learning (KPT) and the QS requirement. ASG 2017 Celebrates 164 Excellent Staff At UniMAP Kangar, March 29 - 164 Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) staff were celebrated in the Anugerah Seri Gemilang (ASG) 2017. The event held at Seri Malaysia Hotel was organized to recognize their excellent service at UniMAP. Excellent Service Award (APC), 31 recipients received the Special Excellent Service Award (AKPC), comprised of 7 categories and 6 recipients received the Special Appreciation Award (APK) The Vice Chancellor of UniMAP, Dato Prof Dr. Zul Azhar Zahid Jamal believes that these recognitions will motivate staff to further perform in their service. He added that UniMAP had achieved a lot in its 17 years of establishment, all due to the staffs committment and hard work. ![]() The ceremony was also graced with the presence of UniMAP Chancellor, Raja Muda Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and UniMAP Pro-Chancellor, Raja Puan Muda Perlis Tuanku Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil. Dato Dr. Syed Omar Sharifuddin Syed Ikhsan, the Perlis State Secretary representing the Menteri Besar Perlis and Jafperi Othman, member of the University Board of Directors were also present during the ceremony. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin in his speech had outlined 10 traits of an excellent worker and wishes that UniMAP staff should strive to be the best at all times. Among the traits are being proactive and having the initiative to start something before being asked to do so. Other than that, trustworthiness is also the basis for success in everthing. You must be someone that is trustworthy, honest, sincere, always speaks the truth and never lie, steal or accept or offer bribe, he added. The MoU was signed in order for the two universities to collaborate on staff and students exchange, research collaboration, conference organization and other programs. A ceremony to celebrate the 48th birthday of UniMAP Pro-Chancellor also took place during the event. UniMAP Strongest Man Earned Eighth Place In The World Strongest Team Championship Kangar, 27 March - Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP) strongest man has successfully positioned himself in the top eight at the World Strongest Team Championship which was held in Esztergom, Hungary, recently. Muhammad Firdaus Jamen, 23, said the selection of participants to the competition conducted based on the first and second ranked athletes of the Strongest Man in a country. Among the routines that need to be done in this tournament are 160 kilograms of Atlas Stone, 450 kilograms of Tire Flip, 555 kilograms of Tire Flip 125 kilograms of Farmers Walk, 325 kilograms of Duckwalk, 500 kilograms of Superyoke; 30 kilograms of Leg Press, 90 kilograms of Press Box, 130 kilograms of Log Press of, 130 kilograms of Axle Bar Press and 240 kilograms, 270 kilograms, 300 kilograms of Power Stairs. Firdaus said, only three participants from Asian countries were selected to participate in this competition, namely Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.
